WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- In response to storm-related power outages across the county, three warming centers have been opened for those needing a warm shelter. As of 4 p.m. on Tuesday, almost 5,900 National Grid customers in Warren County were without power. Get all of the latest news, weather, sports, and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! HALFMOON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the Halfmoon Town Hall will be open for Halfmoon Town residents who have lost power due to the winter storm. Sandwiches, bottled water, snacks, blankets, cots, and other items will be available. Get all of the latest news, weather, sports, and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! The Town Hall will be open through the night until tomorrow and has an emergency generator that will provide heat and electricty. A Reverse 911 Call will be made to all Town residents to notify them of the availability. A former truck driver from Colorado has been sentenced to life in a federal prison for child sex assault that also crossed state lines.Michael Tracy McFadden, 51, of Grand Junction, was sentenced March 6 in U.S. District Court in Denver, according to a U..S. Two men who were previously incarcerated in California were given the opportunity to obtain valuable on-hand job skills thanks to the Los Angeles Rams, Bank of America and two L.A.-based nonprofits.Juan Camacho and Kenzo Sohoue participated in a six-month program with the Rams that provided them with paid onsite work experience in different departments across the organization. A man from Santa Barbara has been arrested and charged with attempted murder nearly two weeks after doorbell video caught him shooting into a home in Highland. According to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies at the Highland Station, 34-year-old Gabriel Arce was arrested on Monday after he fired “approximately four rounds from a handgun through the front door” of a home in the 7000 block of Central Avenue in Highland on February 28. The victim was inside the residence and sustained a gunshot wound to their leg, which they were able to apply a tourniquet to before authorities arrived and continued with medical treatment. Arce was on parole for possessing a weapon while in prison and was originally sent to prison on a robbery conviction. The Sierra snowpack, which hit its biggest level in 30 years earlier this month, is once again surging as forecasts suggest 3 fresh feet of snow may blanket large portions of the Central and Southern Sierra in the next three days.On Tuesday, the statewide snowpack stood at 217% of historical levels, up from 192% of normal last week.The Southern Sierra has been particularly slammed by snowy weather this season, reaching 260% of normal snowpack levels on Tuesday.
