COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio Attorney General’s Office rejected petition language Wednesday for a constitutional amendment aimed at remaking the state’s troubled system for drawing political maps, determining that it failed to present a fair and truthful summary of what is proposed. In announcing the determination, Republican Dave Yost’s office said, “The decision underscores the importance of precise, comprehensive and unbiased summaries to enable voters to make informed decisions.” The group Citizens Not Politicians, which includes two former Ohio Supreme Court justices, aims to place the proposal on next year’s fall ballot. Spokesman Chris Davey said rejections are not unusual in a proposed amendment’s early stages. “We believe our summary was accurate,” he said in a statement. “But we will review the Attorney General’s guidance, will make necessary adjustments and will collect new signatures with our broad, statewide, nonpartisan coalition of part...

The arrests have prompted some business owners to prepare for the possibility that their stores could get ransacked. The good news for the Vikings? T.J. Hockenson has recovered from his ear infection. The bad news? Now he is dealing with lower-back stiffness. As a result, the star tight end was a limited participant for the Vikings during the joint practice against the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon at TCO Performance Center. That has been the case for the past few weeks as Hockenson has typically gone through warmups with his teammates before watching the rest of practice from the sidelines. There has been speculation that Hockenson, who has no guaranteed money beyond this season, could be sitting out as he waits for a contract extension. Asked for clarification on Wednesday, head coach Kevin O’Connell pushed back on that notion.“He has not indicated to me one time that it is about that,” O’Connell said while adding that the Vikings would love to have Hockenson back on the field as soon as possible. “We’ve got to have a process where we get these guys he...
